Sapphire Foods India, operator of KFC and Pizza Hut, reported a Q1 net loss of Rs 1.8 crore.
This compares to a profit of Rs 8.52 crore in the same quarter last year.
The loss reflects rising competition from local cafés and online kitchens.
Results were disclosed in a regulatory filing for the quarter ended June 30.
