India's long-term bonds decline before debt sale, Treasury moves pinch

India’s long-term government bonds declined in early Friday trading, as upcoming debt issuance is set to further challenge investor appetite following an overnight selloff in U.S. Treasuries.

The government plans to auction ₹160 billion ($1.87 billion) each of a new 15-year and a 40-year bond, despite subdued demand for longer-term securities.
