Indian rupee becomes the worst performer among Asian peers on Wednesday with a 61 paise fall

On Wednesday, the central bank's likely presence was limited, dealers said.
After the rupee opened past 87 per, oil companies rushed to buy dollars, which triggered stop losses for importers.
Combination of both these factors lead to rupee hit an intra-day low of 87.5152 towards the fag end of the session.
This level was at a striking distance of its all-time closing low of 87.5775.
