Copper prices declined on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly announced a 50% import tariff on copper. Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange (LME) dropped 0.57% to $9,735 per metric ton by 0109 GMT, while the most-traded copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) fell 0.49% to 79,090 yuan per ton.
