Copper drops globally after Trump’s 50% tariff move shakes markets



Copper and other base metal prices slipped on the LME and SHFE after the US announced a 50% tariff on copper imports, ending a key arbitrage trade; LME nickel dropped to $14,965, lead to $2,044, zinc to $2,709, aluminium to $2,574, and tin to $33,370.
