The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday announced plans to launch electricity futures contracts within the next 2–3 weeks, enabling power buyers, sellers, traders, and industrial users to hedge against price volatility.
The contracts will go live on the NSE shortly after the official launch date is declared. These monthly contracts will be available year-round, beginning on the first business day of each month and expiring a day prior to the end of the contract period.
