NRI deposit inflows hit 11-year high in FY25 driven by attractive rates



NRI deposits in Indian banks surged to an 11-year peak in FY25, boosted by attractive interest rates and a weakening rupee. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s latest bulletin, inflows into NRI deposit schemes rose 10% year-on-year to $16.2 billion, up from $14.7 billion in the previous fiscal, marking the highest inflow in over a decade.
