The Topix ended down 0.32%, breaking a 13-day winning streak—the longest since 2009.
Fast Retailing and Toyota dragged the Nikkei, while Sony rose 3.67% on a profit forecast.
Yaskawa Electric dropped 1.88% after being removed from MSCI’s standard index.
