European shares rise after four-day pullback




European stocks rebounded on Tuesday, with the STOXX 600 up 1% after four days of sharp losses.
The index had fallen over 12% in four sessions, nearing bear territory amid global recession fears.
Germany’s benchmark gained 0.8%, while EU proposed 25% counter-tariffs on U.S. goods.
Banking stocks rose 1%, and defence shares led gains, up 3% as investors sought safer bets.
