The Russian rouble fell 0.4% to 84.30 per dollar, extending losses from its biggest drop of the year.
It also weakened 1.1% against the Chinese yuan, trading at 11.62 on the Moscow Exchange.
Despite recent declines, the rouble remains up 26% against the dollar in 2025.
Analysts attribute the drop to a natural rebound after forced selling in currency futures.
