Fed's Collins says it is clear tariffs will drive inflation up near term

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Susan Collins stated on Thursday that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration will raise inflation in the U.S., but it remains uncertain how long this upward pressure will last.

"It seems inevitable that tariffs will boost inflation in the short term," she said during an appearance in Boston, adding that the impact is more likely to be temporary.
