Overall fundraising from capital markets, including both equity and debt instruments, is expected to rise by nearly 21% to Rs 14.27 lakh crore in FY25, up from Rs 11.8 lakh crore in FY24, Sebi chief Madhabi Puri Buch stated on Friday.
Buch highlighted that in the first nine months of the current fiscal, entities raised Rs 3.3 lakh crore through equity and Rs 7.3 lakh crore via debt markets, bringing the total fundraising to Rs 10.7 lakh crore.
"If we project for the next quarter (Q4), we will probably end somewhere like over Rs 14 lakh crore raised for the year in terms of capital, both equity and debt," Buch remarked at a NISM-organized conference. A presentation from Buch placed the FY25 estimate at Rs 14.27 lakh crore.
