Sebi to take measure for F&O segment soon; calls for tax breaks on municipal bonds

 

Capital markets regulator Sebi is expected to implement measures in the Futures and Options (F&O) segment soon to enhance investor protection, according to a senior official. Additionally, Sebi has urged the government to consider tax breaks for municipal bond subscribers, which are essential for funding infrastructure development.

The regulator plans to advocate for these tax incentives during an upcoming meeting with the finance commission, as noted by whole-time member Ashwani Bhatia.
