Nikkei closes at 2-week peak as tech shares track Nasdaq higher

This marks its highest close since October 15.

The gain represents the third consecutive session of increases.

The broader Topix index also increased, rising 0.81% to 2,703.72.

Technology stocks were influenced by the Nasdaq's record finish overnight.
