The steel ministry is "actively working" on merging Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (RINL) with Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), according to a senior government official.
This development follows the decision of outgoing RINL chairman Atul Bhatt to take leave until retirement amid the company's declining financial health.
