Japan's Nikkei ends lower as stronger yen, chip losses weigh

On Thursday, Japan's Nikkei share average declined amid volatile trading, pressured by a stronger yen and declines in semiconductor-related stocks. Investors are also awaiting U.S. non-farm payroll data to assess the health of the global economy.

The Nikkei ended the day at its lowest point since August 14, falling 1% to 36,657.09, marking its third consecutive day of losses.
