Gold rallies to record high on US rate-cut optimism



Gold prices surged to an all-time high on Friday as the dollar weakened in anticipation of a potential reduction in U.S. interest rates. Palladium also saw a notable increase, rising 15% this week.

Spot gold was up 0.4% at $2,567.99 per ounce as of 0501 GMT, having reached a record high of $2,570.03 earlier in the session. So far this week, bullion has gained approximately 3%.
