Rupee holds above record low to end flat on day and week

The Indian rupee traded within a narrow range and ended Friday's session almost unchanged, as most Asian currencies recovered from early losses and light dollar sales by foreign banks supported the rupee above its record low. The rupee closed at 83.94 against the U.S. dollar, barely different from its previous close of 83.9475. On a week-on-week basis, the currency also remained nearly flat.
