Rupee falls to record low amid decline in local equities, tepid risk




On Friday, the rupee fell to its lowest level on record as local equities declined in response to a global sell-off driven by concerns over U.S. economic growth and geopolitical tensions.
The rupee dropped to an all-time low of 83.7475, surpassing its previous record of 83.7450 set on Wednesday. The currency was trading at 83.74 at 1:55 p.m. IST.
