MSCI to increase HDFC Bank’s weightage in Global Standard Index in 2 tranches

MSCI announced that the weightage of HDFC Bank, India’s largest private lender, in the Global Standard Index will be increased in two phases.

The long-awaited increase in HDFC Bank’s weightage is set to occur in August. However, MSCI has opted for a lower adjustment factor, which will result in an inflow of $1.8 billion, or 93 million shares, affecting the August rebalancing over approximately 4.5 days.
