Google-parent Alphabet cut stake in Crowdstrike before July global outage

A regulatory filing on Friday disclosed that Alphabet, Google's parent company, had reduced its stake in cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike before the global outage caused by a software update last month. Alphabet's holdings were cut from 855,789 to 427,895 Class A shares, as of June 30.

The global tech outage on July 19, triggered by a Crowdstrike software update, severely disrupted computer systems worldwide, affecting sectors such as healthcare, banking, and aviation.
