Tokyo's leading stocks, after initially declining, rebounded and closed higher on Thursday, buoyed by bargain-hunting as investors awaited new trading signals.
The Nikkei 225 index increased by 0.16 percent or 62.26 points, finishing at 38,633.02, while the broader Topix index slightly decreased by 0.11 percent or 3.10 points, ending at 2,725.54.
