Tokyo stocks end higher





On Friday, Tokyo stocks closed higher following the Bank of Japan's announcement of reducing its extensive holdings of government bonds while maintaining unchanged interest rates.


The Nikkei 225 index rose by 0.24 percent, or 94.09 points, reaching 38,814.56, while the broader Topix index increased by 0.54 percent, or 14.83 points, to 2,746.61.
