The rupee strengthened by 8 paise to 83.37 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, buoyed by a positive trend in domestic equities and foreign fund inflows. Forex traders noted that despite the favorable domestic factors, the strength of the US dollar in international markets and higher crude oil prices limited the rupee's appreciation.
