Rupee ends nearly flat aided by RBI intervention; logs weekly decline

The Indian rupee ended Friday almost unchanged as the Indian central bank's intervention prevented it from reaching a historic low despite the pressure from a stronger U.S. dollar affecting most Asian currencies. The rupee closed at 83.5550 against the dollar, a marginal change from its previous close of 83.5425. Week-on-week, the currency declined by 0.2%.
