Japan's Nikkei skids 1% as yen intervention risks rise

On Thursday, Japan's Nikkei share average retreated by 1%, reversing much of the previous session's gains.

Traders grew cautious as the yen slipped below the significant 160 per dollar threshold, raising concerns about possible intervention.

As of 0145 GMT, the Nikkei stood at 39,248.88, retaining just 75 points from Wednesday's surge.
