Foreign investors are reportedly buying Indian debt in anticipation of its upcoming inclusion in the JPMorgan index





On Thursday, ahead of India's addition to the JPMorgan emerging market debt index, three indicators in the foreign exchange markets pointed to foreign investors, possibly passive funds, purchasing Indian sovereign debt.


The rupee rose to 83.4750 per dollar, a 0.12% increase, despite declines in Asian currencies and higher U.S. Treasury yields.
