D-Street Recap

On Wednesday, Indian benchmark equity indices had a volatile session and closed nearly unchanged. The NSE Nifty 50 declined by 0.18% to 23,516, while the S&P BSE Sensex edged up by 0.05% to 77,337.

Initially, both indices had risen approximately 0.3% each to reach record highs at the opening bell, but later retreated from those levels. The session saw a rise in high-weightage private banks counterbalanced by losses in state-owned firms and energy stocks following a recent strong rally.
