Sensex Today | Stock Market Live Updates: Oil prices up on wildfires in Canada, US inventories drawdown expectations
Early on Wednesday, oil prices climbed as significant wildfires posed a threat to Canada's oil sands, while market anticipation grew for a drawdown in U.S. crude oil and gasoline inventories later in the day. Brent crude futures increased by 34 cents, or 0.4%, reaching $82.71 a barrel. Similarly, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures (WTI) saw a rise of 38 cents, or 0.5%, reaching $78.39 a barrel by 0016 GMT.
