European shares edged higher on Monday, amid caution around Middle East tensions. Temenos was on course for its best day in over 15 years after saying Hindenburg Research's allegations were found to be incorrect.

The pan-European STOXX 600 gained 0.3% as of 0853 GMT. The defence sector was the top gainer, after Iran launched explosive drones and missiles at Israel over the weekend in retaliation for a suspected Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria on April 1.
