Europe's main stock markets wavered at the start of trading on Wednesday. London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major companies rose 0.5 percent to 7,548.41 points, as dealers digested news that UK inflation held at 4.0 percent in January. In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index was marginally higher at 7,626.80 points while Frankfurt's DAX was slightly lower at 16,872.94.
