Tokyo stocks ended higher on Friday, extending gains from the previous day's session when the benchmark Nikkei index closed above 35,000 for the first time since 1990.
The Nikkei 225 was up 1.50 percent, or 527.25 points, to end at 35,577.11, while the broader Topix index added 0.46 percent, or 11.36 points, to 2,494.23.
