The Burman family has refuted the allegations of their activities as being "fraudulent and illegal" by independent directors of Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL), terming them " false, frivolous and defamatory". The Burman family, which had made an open offer in September to acquire Religare Enterprises' control, in a statement said:"We are surprised and disappointed at these allegations".
