Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher on Wednesday, as investors digested US retail sales, China's GDP and corporate earnings.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.01 percent, or 1.96 points, to 32,042.25, while the broader Topix index ended up 0.14 percent, or 3.26 points, at 2,295.34.
