Japan's Nikkei share average gained on Tuesday after the Bank of Japan (BOJ) added more flexibility to its yield curve control, but kept the stimulative policy in place.
The stock benchmark closed 0.53% higher at 30,858.85.
The broader Topix index rallied 1.01%.
