The 10-year Japanese government bond (JGB) yield hit a new decade high on Wednesday, leading a jump across yields that pushed the Bank of Japan to announce an emergency bond-buying operation.

The two-year JGB yield rose 1 basis point (bps) to 0.065%, a level not seen since February 2015, and the five-year yield hit 0.35% for the first time since June 2013.
