European stock markets stable at open

Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading Friday after Tokyo closed lower and following losses on Wall Street.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index was almost unchanged at 7,645.39 points.

In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 was flat at 7,103.05 points and Frankfurt's DAX index eased 0.2 percent to 15,400.84.
